Emerald Casinos are a chain with venues in central Dublin, Dundalk and here at Clondalkin. This is perhaps the most interesting of the three, being located as in a snooker hall! Swapping one green baize for another will see you playing some of the most exciting casino games around, including Blackjack and poker.

Open all week and welcoming new members on a regular basis, the Clondalkin venue can be joined by anyone. As long as you’ve got a suitable form of ID and are over eighteen, then you’ll be fine. You’ll need to fill in an application form but that’s to be expected. You don’t want just any old weirdo turning up to gamble! Unless it’s you, in which case, that’s fine.

Casino Games

SLOTS

There are 200 slot machines in operation here, meaning that you’ll have plenty of choice when it comes to which electronic games take your fancy. They try to keep them as up-to-date as possible, too, so you know you’ll always have a chance to play on the best games going.

BLACKJACK

There are two Blackjack tables at the Emerald Casino in Clondalkin. No surprise, of course, given that it remains one of the most popular casino games of all time. Try your luck against the dealer and see how you get on.

ROULETTE

There is no table roulette here, but that shouldn’t spoil your fun. Instead, there are five electronic roulette tables dotted around the place. Electronic roulette is an interesting proposition. On the one hand, you don’t really get a chance to interact with a croupier or anything, but on the other, the machine does all of the calculations for you and monitors everything, so you don’t need to worry about watching your chips.

OTHER GAMES

There’s only really one other game of note on offer at the Emerald Casino and that’s Caribbean Stud Poker. It’s a slightly different variation of an old favourite with normal Texas Hold’em tables taking up most of the rest of the casino.

Poker

There are twenty Texas Hold’em tables at the Emerald Casino in Clondalkin with room enough for 200 people. In the past, it has hosted tournaments with prizes of €15,000, €20,000 and €25,000, so you know they take it seriously. It is the main game on offer and if you’re the sort of person that really enjoys a game of poker, then you’ll find yourself in very good company indeed here.

Bars & Restaurants

There’s no bar, per se, but you can get soft drinks and snacks here. There’s also a pub right next door and a McDonald’s over the road, so you’ve got options if you want to get a drink or a bite to eat.

Membership

It’s easy enough to become a member of Emerald Casino. As long as you’re over eighteen you can join up with a valid ID. Make sure it’s got your photo on it, so something like a passport or driving license would be ideal. If you’re at all concerned about getting your membership then it may also be worth taking along a recent utility bill, just in case.

Player Rewards

The Emerald Casino doesn’t really do a player reward scheme, but make sure to ask when you go if this is something that you’re interested in incase they change their mind on that issue in the future.

Getting There

The Emerald Casino is pretty close to the centre of Clondalkin, which is on the outskirts of Dublin. It’s on one end of Old Nangor Road, which is a well-known locale that runs almost the length of the town. If you want a more specific site to keep an eye out for then Clondalkin Leisure Centre is about five-minutes away, whilst the Opening Mind toy store is just around the corner. As we’ve said, it’s also just opposite the McDonald’s, so if you need to ask anyone for directions then that’s a good place to start.

If you need to use public transport to get there then the bus might be your best bet. The Mill SC / Clondalkin bus stop is almost right outside the venue with the Thornfield Square stop not far away either. Slightly further afield but still well within walking distance is the Clondalkin Garda Station stop and another on Orchard Road. Clondalkin is served by two main train stations. Clondalkin Station is perhaps 20-minutes or so from the casino with the Clondalkin Fonthill about a similar distance, making either convenient depending on where you’re coming from.
